Where a tradition and the record disagree, the page says so: your sign has not moved, the blank rune is on no historical object, and the Fu Xi circle really is binary counting — but nobody was doing arithmetic with it.
What the pairing reading actually contains
Not a score.
An angle, and what it costs.
Most compatibility tools hold a table of twelve signs against twelve signs and read the cell. This one measures the angle between the two Sun signs on the zodiac wheel — 0°, 30°, 60°, 90°, 120°, 150° or 180° — and reads the classical aspect that angle has carried for two thousand years. Then it adjusts the result by the angle between the two faces, the ten-degree thirds of each sign, which is what lets it tell two people born under the same sign five weeks apart apart.
What comes back is a band label, the angle in plain degrees, both faces named with the signs they answer to, and five short cards: what runs between you, what it costs, the undercurrent, when it shows and a small experiment. Every pairing gets an ease and an edge. There is no compatible-or-not verdict, and a low score is not a worse pairing — it means less of it runs on shared instinct, so more of it has to be said out loud.

Before you ask
Four things worth knowing.
Is my birth date stored anywhere?
No. Every calculation on this site runs in the page, on your device. Nothing you type is sent to us, written to a cookie, put in the URL or kept between visits — closing the tab is the delete button. There is no account and nothing to sign up for. The privacy notice sets out exactly what the advertising and analytics do collect, which is not this.
Why does a low score not mean a bad match?
Because the number measures how much of a pairing runs on shared instinct, not how well it can work. A hard angle means fewer things go without saying, so more of them have to be said out loud — and pairs who accept that early tend to do considerably better than pairs who wait to stop needing to. Every angle is explained here.
Do I need my birth time?
Not for anything on this site except one optional field. The Sun-sign reading, the moon phase, the Chinese animal, the rune and the hexagram all work from dates alone; only the nakshatra sharpens with a time. A full birth chart does need one, and the method page says where this site stops.
Why does the same date always give the same rune?
Because a fortune that changes on refresh cannot be checked, and anything that cannot be checked can only be believed. The rune draw and the I Ching cast are derived from the date rather than shuffled or thrown. That is a real departure from both practices, and both pages say so on the result instead of hiding it.
