Why it exists
Most compatibility tools flatten two people into a yes or a no, and most free astrology tools quietly post a birth date to somebody's server. Both of those seemed like avoidable choices rather than necessary ones.
So this site does the opposite of each. The two-person reading gives every pairing an ease and an edge and refuses to issue a verdict — a low score here does not mean a worse relationship, it means less of it runs on shared instinct, so more of it has to be said out loud. And every tool here ships the astronomy to your browser instead of collecting your birth data, which costs a few hundred lines of arithmetic and is worth it.
What is on the site
- A compatibility reading built from the angle between two Sun signs and their faces — not a twelve-by-twelve lookup table.
- A moon phase pairing that draws the moon you were born under from the real Sun-Moon angle, and lays two of them side by side.
- A Chinese zodiac calculator that computes the lunar new year rather than dividing the Gregorian year by twelve — which is wrong for about one person in seven.
- A sidereal converter giving your Vedic sign, your moon rashi and your nakshatra, with the ayanamsa named.
- A group reading for up to eight people at once: every angle in the room, and what the room as a whole is short of.
- Twelve sign guides, each with its three faces, its Sun, Moon and rising readings, and the constellation it was named after drawn with the ecliptic across it.
- A reference library: the seven aspects, the elements and modes, the thirty-six faces, the eight moon phases, the twelve animals, precession and a glossary.
How we write about astrology
Three rules, applied everywhere on the site.
The astronomy and the interpretation are kept apart. That the March equinox has precessed into Pisces is a fact you can check. That Pisces is permeable is a symbolic tradition. Both are on this site and they are never blended into one confident voice, because the second borrows credibility from the first and should not be allowed to.
Nothing here predicts and nothing here diagnoses. Astrology is not an established method of describing or forecasting anything about a person, and this site says so on every page rather than in a footnote. You will not find a sentence here telling you whether to leave someone, take a job or worry about your health.
Where there is a choice, we name it as a choice. The decans use the triplicity scheme rather than the Chaldean one; the sidereal tool uses the Lahiri ayanamsa rather than one of the four others in use; the Chinese calendar is evaluated at UTC+8 because that is where it is defined. Other schools answer differently. Each of those decisions is stated with its reasoning where it applies, so it can be disagreed with.
How accurate the numbers are
Stated rather than implied. The Sun is computed to better than a hundredth of a degree; the Moon to about ten arcseconds, from published series evaluated in your browser rather than from a shipped table. Nutation, the obliquity of the date and delta T are all applied. This is not a professional ephemeris and it will never disagree with one about which sign, which phase or which lunar mansion something falls in — which is the entire resolution the interpretation works at. Chinese New Year is computed from the solstice and the new moons after it, leap month included, and is checked against twenty-nine published dates including the notoriously awkward 2033 and 2034.
How it is paid for
Advertising, and nothing else. There is no account, no subscription, no email capture, no upsell and nothing sold. The ad units sit below the fold, load lazily as you scroll toward them, never sit next to a form field or a result, and are labelled. No ad code on this site can see anything you typed — that boundary is enforced by a test rather than by a promise, and the test is in the repository.
