Cookie notice

What is stored,
and who is storing it.

Paired Stars sets no cookies of its own. Google’s ads may set theirs.

What we store

Nothing. Birth dates and results stay in page memory and are gone when you close or reload the tab. We do not write them — or anything else — to cookies, local storage or session storage, and we have no account, no login and no server-side record of your visit.

Our analytics

Page views and the two anonymous events “work started” and “work completed” go to our self-hosted Umami instance. It is configured cookieless: no cookie, no local storage entry, no device identifier, and it honours your browser’s Do Not Track setting. No birth date, sign, score or result detail is ever attached to those events.

Google AdSense

This site shows ads from Google AdSense, publisher pub-3015567014793107. Google’s ad script runs in your browser and connects to Google directly, so Google receives your IP address and user agent, and it may set or read advertising cookies and similar identifiers — a first-party pair on pairedstars.com, typically named __gads and __gpi, plus identifiers on Google’s own domains such as google.com and doubleclick.net. Google uses them to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ads, to detect invalid traffic, and — where you have allowed it — to personalise what you are shown. Exact names and lifetimes are Google’s to change; the current list is in Google’s own description of the cookies it uses.

Your choice, and where it lives

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google shows you a consent message before personalising ads. It comes from a Google-certified consent platform and is served through the AdSense tag on this page. Google collects your answer, records it and acts on it; the choice is stored by Google, not by us, so we cannot show it back to you here or change it on your behalf.

To review or change it, reopen that message from the privacy or consent control Google places on the page. Clearing the cookies for this site also clears the recorded answer, and Google will ask again on your next visit. We deliberately do not run a second, home-made consent banner: it would not be Google-certified, Google would not act on it, and a control that looks binding but is not is worse than none.

With JavaScript turned off, no ad script runs and no advertising cookie is set. The compatibility tool needs JavaScript, but nothing about the ads is required for the rest of the site to be readable.
